Tasia's music reflection #9

Thursday, 26 August,2010

Today we had to present about the indonesian songs and stuff... My group was the second to perform, at first I forgot to make a cue card for me, but luckily Vinka made cue cards for everyone in the group. After everybody finished presenting Mr. John said that he would anounce the scores at the next meeting.

Today in music theory we learned how to make better presentation. When it was my group's turn to present and do our best while realizing the mistakes and stuff (not the real day of presenting) i thought it was pretty good, all we needed was cue cards. I could present because i kind of practiced before. Next thing I'm gonna do is to perfect it.

Today in music theory Mr. Harry showed us how to make a blog. The next thing I'm going to do is to make the blog and post the reflections.
Today in instrument class Mr.Harry asked me to play the major scales, i knew how to play the major scales pretty well so he asked me to learn how to play the major and the minor. I knew how to play the major and the minor because Mr. Harry showed me how to do it. And next I'm going to practice the major and the minor until i can play it well.

Today in music theory we discussed about what indonesian province we were going to pick for our presentation. There were 5 different types of group, I was in the Sunda group, the members were me, Reihan, Afia and Vinka. I was the one that made the poster, Reihan made the powerpoint, Afia and Vinka found the information that was put on the powerpoint and the poster.
Today in the instrument class i did the major scales from c-b. I did it by practicing, I will practice more and learn some other things.

Today i had to redo my assessment... This time i passed the assessment right on the point. I got 7 and the passing score was 7. I was so happy that i actually passed, at first I thought that i would have failed again... After my assessment we listened to the other people who had to redo the assessment. And in the end everyone passed. YAY!!
Afte® the assessment was done it was going to be my first time moving to piano. In the piano class we had to do what Mr. Harry told them to do... as for me, i had to watch them do it and when it was my turn Mr. Harry asked me to do the major scales... after I did it, he asked me to practice it more and he also told me to cut my fingernails since it was too long ( not allowed to have long fingernails while playing piano.)

Today I sang the Indonesian song for the assessment. I sang it with Dini, Mr. John decided to divide us into pairs. I was so happy that he decided not to make it a solo singing thing... :) I think I would kind of have a bad score because I couldn't really sing Indonesian songs and I also couldn't reach those high pitched notes... plus i didn't sing loud.... and in the end I had to do a redo the next session which was on Tuesday. So the next thing I'll do is fix my pitch and also the next time i sing the song I'll make my voice louder.

Today in music theory Mr. John asked each of us to write something on the board. After everyone already wrote on the board Mr. John corrected the ones that are wrong and he also told us how to draw the notes properly. He said hat the stem/stick of the note has to be two and a half lines long.

Today we wrote the C major scale in our music books and we also practices our solo singing assessment. Next I'm going to remember the C major scale and also practice the assessment song until I can remember the lyrics. I should also try to make me able to reach the high pitches in the song.

Today In music theory we learnt about the C major scale and we also learnt the Indonesian song for out solo singing assessment. I think the C major scale is easy because there aren't any sharps or flats. The next thing i have to do is to remember the Indonesian song for the assessment.
